Barn Door Track Kit – Sliding barn doors can add a realistic look to any shed or work shed. The backbone of these doors is the track and the rollers that join the doors of the building and allow them to slide freely. Most people can place tracks and rollers for barn doors in several hours. Double the measured width of the door opening to determine the necessary length of the track.
Cut the track to the required length using a metal saw or alternative Sierra equipped with a metal cutting blade. Determine the mounting style of the track. It will be an assembly with clips that come with the track kit or by screwing through the chips that are welded to the top of the track. Mount the barn door track kit to the wall using the screws provided, with the bottom of the track 3 inches above the top of the door opening. Make sure the track is level. Decide which surface of the door opening to slide and mount the track flush with the different party.
Lay the door face down and place the rollers one or two inches below the top edge of the door. Begin by placing the rollers six inches on each side and distribute the rest between them. Use a pencil to mark the holes and remove the barn door track kit of rollers. A hole through the door at each mark, using a drill bit that is as wide as the screw holes. Insert the carriage bolts that came with the rollers on the front of the door and through the rollers on the back of the door. Fasten with the supplied washers and nuts.
